Last week my mom and I traveled to Colorado Springs with Taylor so he could play in his Kent Valley Team's hockey Tournament. I had never been to Colorado before and was super surprised at how much it reminded me of home! There was sagebrushy stuff along the highways and the temp. was about the same - the only thing different was the thin air (which caused a few headaches and a few days to get used to breathing/exercising) and the beautiful view of the Rockies so close by!

We enjoyed watching Taylor play - he did a great job! Although, his team only won 1 game. They only had 1 game a day so we had plenty of time to do some sightseeing!

The first day we went to the Garden of the Gods - that is where this picture is from and the one of the 3 of us. It was some beautiful land formations and a good time for the boys to run around and throw snowballs - whenever they found ANY snow - it was a magnet and they were all throwing snowballs! Boys will be boys:)

The next day we went to the Airforce Academy. It was a neat place to see -the church was beautiful and i hope to upload a picture of it on my flickr site and/or my shutterfly site for sure:) We also visited a boarding school who is trying to get their hockey program going strong. It was very interesting to learn more about how they work etc... all of the boys wanted to go there - haha! In your dreams Taylor!

The following day we had a short tour of the US Olympic Training Center - it was only 15 min away! It was super cool! They showed a very nice inspirational video (as did the airforce academy) and then showed us around a bit. We saw some gymnastic competition going on and several athletes working out in the traning room (as seen on the Biggest Loser). I think all of the boys dream of some day being on the US Olympic hockey team - it was a treat to see!

We spent an extra day in Denver before we headed home - we ventured to downtown Denver and shopped a bit and also visited the Museum of Nature & Science - it was so interesting to see their huge emphasis of Evolution - Taylor and i just looked at each other, laughed and walked out of that exhibit.

Another highlight of my trip was actually getting the chance to read a book for fun! But i'm glad to be home with my family...
